Vote Now for your Favorite “Spirit of the Beaches” Photo!

Chevy recently partnered with Cracker Jax Blogger Cam Brown in Jacksonville to host our first Chevy Shutterbug Challenge, a traveling photography workshop and challenge to capture the “Spirit of the Beaches.” Our travels took us to Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville, Neptune and Atlantic Beaches.
Our adventure began at Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant in Jax Beach where a group of local photography enthusiasts (all different levels of experience) piled into four shiny new Chevrolets (Equinox, Traverse & Cruze) and drove to a couple art galleries to view fine art photography collections and learn photography tips from professional photographers. Stellers Gallery featured photographer Russell Cederberg who reminded us that the best camera is the one in our hands and helped us to better understand how to best frame images in our minds to take more interesting photos. Our next stop at Gallery 725 featured photographer Matt Winghart. Winghart is also co-owner of the gallery, and he shared with us that the best and fastest-selling fine art photographs are usually those that are not technically perfect. That statement took the pressure off going into our challenge as our shutterbugs drove away in their Chevys for an hour to capture the “Spirit of the Beaches” in a single photograph.
Our challenge winner will win a two-night stay at Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant, which is where we ended a fun day of driving, learning and picture-taking with refreshments and h’orderves. The winner will also win a week-long Chevy vehicle loan.
Our shutterbugs have submitted their best photos, now it’s YOUR turn to vote for your favorite image. Voting ends Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 5 p.m. The winner will be notified and announced Friday, August 12th.
