Our good friend Brittany Thomas (better known on Twitter as @ClumpsofMascara) hosted the first #ChevyPizzaCrawl in Orlando on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.  The event kicked off at Carl Black Chevrolet in east Orlando. If you’ve never been there it’s worth stopping in as it’s one of the fanciest dealerships in town (and the folks there definitely know how to have a little fun!).

Once the guests arrived, we teamed up and hopped into a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, Equinox and two Cruzes, all equipped with a pizza crawl survival kit.

The first stop on our crawl was Junior’s Pizza, located on the corner of University Boulevard and Dean Road. We tried a couple pies but the fan favorite was definitely the Buffalo Chicken (and of course the garlic knots) – so good! The next stop was Lazy Moon, located across from the University of Central Florida. We had more delicious pizza and the slices here are seriously huge — see the photos for yourself on Facebook/GMintheSoutheast. Mellow Mushroom was the last stop on the crawl, located on the corner of Alafaya Trail and Colonial Drive. We tried their Kosmic Karma, Mighty Meaty and Cheese pizza, all of which surpassed our expectations.

The night ended with a raffle for a gas gift card and some Italian-themed gift baskets for the best  posts on Facebook/GMintheSoutheast and #ChevyPizzaCrawl tweet – here are some of our favorites:

  • @AKNoel At Lazy Moon, the 2nd stop on the #ChevyPizzaCrawl. Looked at the Tahoe and an Equinox. Great for car seats and lots of kids stuff.
  • @Trevor L. May Still on cloud 9 after styling & profiling in the Chevrolet Tahoe!! I swear I LOVE that Truck! Dear GOD, can I be a Chevrolet Tahoe in my next life?!
  • @Donna Rivera-Kalala GM is definitely on my new car radar! OnStar was the seller for me! Maybe I’ll make the commercial cut:-)

Good pizza, great company and amazing rides pretty much sums up the night. Thanks again to Brittany Thomas and everyone who participated.

Orlando #ChevyPizzaCrawl, Round 2… coming soon!

I had so much fun with friends, food and fast cars on the Chevy Pizza Crawl. I hadn't realized that the Equinox and Tahoe were also available as hybrids. Hmm, all that room for baby car seats, baby stuff and efficient on gas? The best of all worlds. Next time, I'll leave the baby at home so that I can actually drive.

I had a great time exploring pizza places in Orlando, and driving some new Chevys!
