On Saturday, August 18 we treated the HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce to a foodie tour. The ‘Chevy/Hype Redland Foodie Tour ‘ was all about enhancing their taste buds, learning about the local vegetation and the amazingly delicious fruits that are grown in their own ‘backyard’.

We wanted to create an outing experience for the group where they could meet new members of their committee and discover the lush farm community of historic Redland, one of Florida’s oldest agricultural communities located in Homestead, FL.

The event started at Maroone Chevrolet of Miami where we welcomed all Hype participants. The vehicles selected for this particular event were the Volt, Traverse, Equinox, and Camaro. Our first Foodie Tour stop was to the iconic fruit market Robert is Here, were participants tasted the yummiest mangos, dragon fruit, jackfruit and sugar apples—not your usual supermarket fare.

For our second Foodie Tour stop we headed to the Fruit & Spice Park, the only tropical botanical garden of its kind in the United States. The park hosts over 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and nuts!

Our Foodie Tour ended at Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery where Hype participants toured the facility and were able to unwind with a wine tasting experience featuring wines made from exotic fruits such as lychee, mango and passion fruit.

Overall, Hypes enjoyed spending their Saturday driving Chevy vehicles and discovering the Redland agricultural community. For most, it was their first time experiencing the delicious fruits and exploring that part of Florida.
