For the second consecutive year, Chevrolet was invited to be part of the celebration of Communications Week at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Florida International University located at the Biscayne Bay Campus.

On Thursday, March 29, Chevrolet offered students the chance to learn about ‘Global International Communications’ – the topic of this year’s event. The student’s attention was captivated through a presentation offered by Executive Vice President of Weber Shandwick, Mr. Stan Stein.

During his presentation, titled ‘The Life and Times of a Global Agency Consultant’, Mr. Stein spoke to students and faculty of the SJMC on behalf of General Motors. He covered a variety of topics including a description of Weber Shandwick as an agency, work the agency has done for GM throughout the years, ways to get an overseas assignment and the best things about a global assignment.

After the presentation, students and faculty from all six departments on campus got to ride in and drive one of three vehicles including the Chevy Volt, Cruze Eco and Sonic. Then, in appreciation of their participation, each person was able to enjoy pizza and refreshments.

It was the first time that students and faculty members of the FIU Biscayne Bay Campus were exposed to the Chevrolet Sonic and most enjoyed the ride. Others loved the Cruze and mentioned that it was a fun car, ideal for their needs.

We hope you enjoy some of the highlights of the day in the video below.

Thank you to all those FIU students and staff that attended our event!

Until next time!
