Baby Shower on Wheels: Military Mom Diaper Dash

Military moms-to-be in Jacksonville recently participated in the second annual Military Mom Diaper Dash. Diaper Dash is a two-day traveling baby shower put on by Chevy, Winn-Dixie and the Greater Jacksonville Area USO for 60 local and expectant military mothers. Diaper Dash day one kicked off at Mayport USO and a new group of expectant moms met at NAS Jax USO the following day for round two. Our mommies met and then drove away in nine new Chevy vehicles (Malibu, Traverse, Tahoe Hybrid, 2 Cruzes, 2 Equinoxes and 2 Volts) to a total of six neighborhood Winn-Dixie stores to stock up on essential baby care items like diapers, wipes, shampoo and baby food. 

Participants then returned to USO for food and refreshments, raffle prizes and other fun giveaways, including two donated Survival Straps bracelets for each mom. Safe Kids of Northeast Florida was also on hand during Diaper Dash to demonstrate proper car seat installation and other infant safety tips.

Chevy is extremely proud and appreciative of our military and their families. We had a lot of fun celebrating with these women and are thankful they allowed us to be part of such a special time in their lives.  We wish all of our military moms-to-be happy, safe and healthy deliveries!
